I just wanted to let you know that Fox8 News finally aired the episode when we filled the bookbags for the Sandy victims.  I have the website to watch this located on my school website.  All you have to do is click on the link and it will take you staight to view it. 

Also, I wanted to say that First in Math is going well.  Please let me know if you are having any trouble at home logging in.  The class seems excited to find out who is Player of the Day each morning.  I explained to them that each time they log in that they have to start with the Just the Facts icon.  After that they move to any other activity.  Try to do this at least three times a week.

We will be having our Super Bowl party on Friday, February 1st.  Get ready to tailgate!

HOMEWORK

We will not be having spelling or math calendar homework until after Thanksgiving break.  We have standardized testing next week and then the following week we are only here a few days.  We will be doing home reader and journal during the month of November.  This is a crazy month with days off from school and testing, so thanks for understanding if things aren't normal at this time.

1st quarter

We have about finished our first quarter in second grade.  I hope that it went as smoothly for you as it did for me since I had so many returning smiling faces this year.  We have learned alot and they actually remembered a bunch from last year too!!  Good for them.  During second quarter, we will be studying culture and traveling to Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse for our first field trip in January.  We will be having a winter center party in December and welcome any ideas and help for that day.

I am so excited to start another school year with my new 2nd graders.  We are going to learn so many new concepts.  I am excited to see you at open house Thursday night.  This blog is a way for us to communicate so everyone can see what is happening in your child's classroom and respond quicker.  Please let me know if you have any comments or concerns for 2nd grade.
